I won't bother reviewing the FM/AM & CD modes of the stereo because nearly every car stereo these days can do those functions without a hitch. The main reason why you're getting this car stereo is probably for its USB and iPod/iPhone functionality. The good news is that it works well with your latest Apple products. The bad news is that the implementation has little annoyances that really take the joy out of using it.
Let's start with the great.
The nice screen displays everything but the album artwork. Artist, Album, Song, seek position, song position (in an album or playlist). One of the greatest reasons for the USB functionality is that you can pause, skip or repeat songs all from the dash without having to unlock your iPod.
The car stereo can charge your iPod and iPhone while it's connected as well, ensuring you won't lose any battery life while playing your music.
Unplugging your iPod while a song is playing pauses on your iPod/iPhone. Plugging it back in later unpauses the song right from the position you left it, sometimes.
Now for some of the annoyances.
You can navigate through your Artist/Album/Song/Playlist from the dash without touching your iPod. The built in wheel isn't fast enough to scroll through your gigantic list but there is a "Skip" feature that lets you get down to the Ms or the Ts on your list very quickly. This would be a great feature if only there wasn't a flaw. Every time you select your song and wish to pick another artist or album by that artist, it resets you back to the very top of your list, requiring more navigation to get to your intended destination. This isn't the least bit pleasant (or safe) while you're driving and it will surely annoy you after some time.
There is a + and - button on the dash with "Album" written over it. You must be thinking that this will move forward and backward an album on your list. You are correct, it does that feature.. When you selected the album in the album list. If you selected your song from the Artist list, then it skips around the artists list.
I've also had issues with the volume being far lower than where it should be. After some time, though, it corrects itself.
So unless you have a really small amount of songs on your iPod or don't mind selecting a single artist and listening to him/her the entire ride, the built-in navigation features will probably annoy you to no-end.
However, there is one upside to this. If you're using a GPS navigation app on your iPhone and have attached to your dash, you can keep the GPS app running and control and change the music from the car stereo. That's really the only place where the in-dash navigation shines and i'm willing to put up through the annoyances I mentioned if it means i can change my music while keep my GPS app running.
And thankfully, holding down the Mode button allows you to revert complete control back to your iPhone or iPod. If the car radio didn't have this feature, i'd probably give it a lesser rating.

This radio works great with my iPhone 4. The menus are all easy to scroll through. The volume button/selector button works flawlessly and this radio sounds great. I love it.
The problem I have with it is that even in a little bit of sunlight there is so much glare on the display that it is practically unreadable. Maybe it's the height mine is installed at but I don't see any way of fixing this easily. My tinted windows are already pretty dark, I thought. At night this unit gets 5 stars from me and from any sane person. This radio is awesome. Unfortunately, I need to see the display during the daytime too. I can't return it because of how incredibly awesome everything else about this thing is, but seriously, Sony: Fix the glare.
Oh, and as of today the pictures in the description are wrong. Two of the pictures are a different model that has "HD Radio" This not that one. This is the one with the smaller letters on the display and does not have HD radio but is "HD Ready"
